Sure The Beatles were great, but I hate that everyone puts all the other GREAT 60s singers/bands down. Like what about Bob Dylan, Donovan, The Mamas and The Papas, Janis Joplin. The Beatles did many many many covers of other great bands songs. Bob Dylan wrote and help to write many of their songs, so did Donovan. I never feel that free to debate but thanks for the invitation. I strictly abide by the conventions of the great tradition of the American "Southern call-out" which is a variation on the "Druidic call-out." To name a few forms we have: Anarchy, Communism, Despotism, Dictatorship, Totalitarianism, Theocracy, Democracy, oligarchy, monarchy (absolute and constitutional), autocracy, despotism, Isocracy, Fascism, Fuedalism...just to name a few broad categories. It's sad that today's teens can't appreciate this. I showed my kids this video and for them it's the dumbest thing they've ever seen/heard. All they say is "OMG, what a retard. He looks like a bum. What's wrong with his voice." [sarcastic giggling throughout] I first heard this song as a teen in the 80's but even then I immediately recognized it as nothing short of brilliant.
